In 1998 Petroplus acquired the former Gulf Oil site at Waterston, near Milford Haven. Subsequently, Petroplus - in consultation with the local and national authorities in Wales - began developing their "Southern Home Energy and Carbon Action Network" programme to ing clean, reliable and competitively priced energy to Pem okeshire and Wales. This programme commenced with the development of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import and storage facility, Dragon LNG. As part of the second phase of its "Southern Home Energy and Carbon Action Network" programme, Petroplus has applied to develop a 1600MW power plant at its Waterston site. Petroplus is working hard to create a success story for Milford Haven, Pem okeshire and Wales and welcomes support received from the Welsh Development Agency and other agencies in Wales and beyond. Dragon LNG is a joint venture between Petroplus, BG Group (part of the former British Gas) and Petronas of Malaysia.
